10 reasons you should not take mechanical engineering

Yes you have passed your 12th grade examination with wonderful colorful marks to show off. So now you plan to take up engineering. And machines kinda seduce you..ok that was bad! you like machines so much, you wanna know whats inside them. What makes them so brilliant. most of all you like cars. In short you want to take mechanical engineering. But I am here to save you the trouble of going through it to know it.
Gentlemen and ladies here are the 10 reasons you should not take mechanical engineering:

1. First things first, there are literally no girls in our classes. I have no idea why girls dont like mechanical engineering, they mostly prefer CS, IT or electronics etc. But not mechanical. even if by chance you find one in your class, by the time you pass out she will transform into a boy.

2.You only have to work in IT companies only, yes this is the story of every engg. college. Most placements are taken by IT companies because they need a lot of coders or analysts etc. Mechanical companies don't need freshers. You have to have an experience to have an experience.

3. Most of your friends will be drunk or high most of the times as they have nothing else to do.

4. Your branch will be the most free branch throughout the engineering, so no professionalism.

5. The projects you will take up will eat up all your savings as well as future plans.

6. Even if you get into a mechanical company, the pay is very much less than the IT counterpart.

7. After 4 years of learning mechanisms you might end up doing MS in US, or MBA in some B-school, or a coding job.

8. Most of the teachers would not have answers to your latest generation tech questions, if you ask them in their subjects only.

9. Only the degree is never enough, you have to do something extra curricular to prove your abilities.

10. If you don't know any modelling software which you will have to learn from some CADD centre or something, you are worthless. They don't teach you that in mechanical engineering.

SO gentlemen, don't be dissapointed, I took up mechanical engineering, it turned out fine. Surely I ll come up with 10 reasons you should take up mechanical engineering.
